Convert bmp to jpeg

To convert bmp to jpeg, you can really use any image editor or photo editor. Most image viewers can do it too.

Example:
To convert a bmp -Bitmap Image-
to jpeg -Joint Photographic Experts Group-,
you open the bmp file -Menu File->Open-
with your image editor software
and you save it as a jpeg -Menu File->Save as...-
...Yes that's all!

The dialog Save As... usually has a combo-box named Type or Format where you can select jpeg or jpg as the format you want your file to be saved as.

Additional considerations

What else is important when choosing a photo editor to convert a bitmap to jpeg? Jpeg being THE format most people use to publish photos on the web, the compression of the jpeg image may be important for you.

Advice: When you convert bmp to jpeg, it is important that you keep the original image file either as a bmp file or another lossless image format like png. Jpeg being a lossy format, keeping your image only as a jpeg file, you will definitely lose the quality of the original image.
