How to copy photos to CD

This page gives some answers to the question "how to copy photos to CD".

I understand that the visitor would like to burn photos onto a CDrom.

There are probably 2 main reasons why one would like to burn photos onto a CD rom.  One reason is for backup.  The other reason is to give the CDrom away for watching.

In either case please read on below.

To copy photos to CD for backup

If you want to copy photos to CD for backup purposes only,  then it is really not necessary to use a photo software.  Your usual burner software you got with your CD burner drive is really all you need.  Easy CD Creator and Nero are very common on the Windows platform.

In fact, you will copy some folders or a complete branch of your folder tree from the hard disk drive to the CD rom drive,  exactly the same as you would do to backup a collection of text files.  Same task, same method, same tool.

To copy photos to CD for giving away

If you want to give CD's away for watching,  you may like it to have some viewer software burned on the CD in addition to your photos.  Even better, you may like it to give away a CD with a self-running slide show.

While you can use some of the numerous photo softwares to burn a photo CDrom for this purpose,  I mean to give the CD away for watching,  it is not absolutely necessary since this is very easy to do with your usual burner software you got with your CD burner drive.

The only difference with burning a backup is that you may want to create a self running slide show first,  and burn this slide show file onto the CD in a second step.  Still with your usual burning software.

Creating a self-running slide show

Many softwares are able to create a self-running slide show.  Presently I will recommend you only one of them,  AlbumSee  not because the other ones are not good,  but because it is the only one I did check out well.  It is probably the simplest one and easiest one you can ever find and the results are really above average.

AlbumSee  is fairly different from other programs.  It opens as a wizard that will guide you to create a self-running slide show file or an album file.

Specially for those who fear to have to study a big manual before being able to use the software,  this is absolutely not the case here.  It is a small, simple and easy to use program.  Get it and use it!
