EXIF viewer
|
An EXIF viewer is a photo editor or an image viewer software that will show the EXIF info of your Jpeg image files.
Photo editors should also keep the EXIF info of your Jpeg image files when you save them after modifications of course.
If you edit your photo with a graphic editor or with a photo editor,
the EXIF info will mostly be lost when you save the modified image.
Only a few digital photo editors and viewers have an EXIF viewer feature and are able to keep the EXIF info when saving an image on disk.

Many modern digital cameras save EXIF infos in the image file,
when saving the photos in the JPEG file format or in the TIFF file format.
The EXIF info -or EXIF data or EXIF metadata-
contain information about the photo and the settings of the camera when the photo was taken.
E.g. the shutter speed or exposure time, the aperture, the focal length, if the flash light has been fired or not etc...
